Success! I am now a happy cruncher. I did bork a couple of WUs though, but hey, now I have all the cores doing their CPU stuff and my ATI card chewing happily on 3 MW WUs at any given moment (if there is work OFC). If anyone is interested in details, I'll be happy to share them. BR, |

I had hoped that the manager would simply report the completed task and fetch a new Aqua but it just didn't happen. - I have the same problem with AQUA. It will finish a unit and do an upload but if you look in "Project" you will see that it has deferred communications ... sometimes as much as 1 3/4 hours. If you are running long units it isn't a problem but if your next unit takes less than that time then it will upload that unit and NOT download more work. Gets frustrating to say the least. I left a note on the AQUA formum that they need deeper cache setting (more than 2) when running the short units. They replied back that they had the cache increased to 10 for the shorties BUT there are 200 qubit units in the que so they dropped it back to 2. One thing of importance, they have corrected the DCF problem so AQUA units aren't running in "high priority" mode any longer. AQUA is playing nicely with other apps and not stealing all processors. This should eliminate the need to suspend a 2nd cached unit. Bryan |
