I can't firgure out how to get more downloaded. I have no problem with my other projects getting multiples.
Doesn't expecting the unexpected make the unexpected the expected?
If it makes sense, DON'T do it.

Check under the transfers tab in Boinc Manager to see if a download has failed.
If it has then abort the transfer and you should then be able to get more work, at least that works for me.

Is your resource share too low in comparing to other projects?

You should be able to d/l upto 20 at a time. Try suspending all other projects to see if that changes anything. Might be a long shot but see what happens.

Milkyway is 50/50 with rosetta, with nano & seti at 1. It reqests approx 800k seconds each time. I have only ever had one at a time from MW. The last few days I've had some fail, and I keep aborting. Suspending doesn't seem to change it.

I am stumped....check your ltd with the dvtool and if ok try to detach /reattach to project. Everything on your host page looks ok ..long term debt is the only reason that makes any sense to me.

I forgot about checking the ltd. mw & rosetta were at +600k, and seti -1.1 million k. I zeroed out seti, and I'll wait to see if it fixes it.

i'm hoping your problem maybe had to do with how messed up our upload/download directory permissions got while i was gone (i still am trying to figure out why the heck this happened). once everything is working correctly, which should hopefully be soon - let me know if you can get 20.

After I changed the numbers, mw requests 3.1 million seconds which it says is larger that max 895k, then asks for 895k and gets one unit. I allow for near 1 gb of storage for boinc, which should be plenty since it is only using 95 mb. This problem isn't too big of a deal, except when things go crazy getting work.

Just a thought...

Is your cache / connect every ... set to more than the deadline on this project? Could be BOINC (or the MW server) decides your computer won't be able to finish the work before you connect again and thus no extra work is sent.

Oh, and if you zero out the long term debt, best to zero them out for all projects. They should add up to zero (e.g. -1000, +500, +500)

I changed to get 4 days of work from 10 and I got a load of wu's. So that was the problem. Thanks for all of the help. Possibly add this solution to a faqs list.

Great job Webmaster Yoda! I forgot I had that problem with Nano and LHC but always got that long message from the client saying Boinc was on xx% and I am running xx% and won't finish in time....banditwolf didn't say he was getting those messages?

Is that still a feature of Boinc?

No problem - it's just one of those things you come across from time to time ;D

If it is no longer a feature of BOINC, it should be. After all, projects gain nothing from work that's returned too late (or not at all).

The newer versions of BOINC let you specify a short connection time and set your cache separately, which is what I use. I have a permanent broadband connection so I have my settings at connect every 0 days (always on) and usually 1 or 2 days cache (though it depends on what projects I'm crunching for)

Of course if one is only running Milkyway it is pointless to set it very high as the maximum you get per computer is 20 work units in cache (which may be less than half an hour's work on a fast quad)

I didn't notice those messages, so I don't think I got them.
