The setup screen says it is foe nVidia GPUs, but what it really means? I'm running GTX260 and I set this number to 216 equal to number of CUDA cores. Is this correct setup? I do not run MW often because it slows down my graphics, is this option related to this? If so, what is the deal? |

If you're concerned about the graphics slowdown, you should use the BOINC setting to not use the GPU when the computer is in use (which I believe is the default). This option doesn't actually exist. I was thinking of adding a less confusing option in future releases of the OpenCL application. 216 would not be correct; a better option would be x * 216 * 26 * 8 to maximize GPU utilization. Right now it indirectly tries to pick a good value for this so you don't need to think about it. 216 wouldn't work anyway since it isn't a multiple of 32, but it doesn't matter since it isn't a used setting. |
