Hello, I barely started 2 weeks ago with MW@H and reached my (tiny) first goal of 100K for MW@H (CPU-only). During the past 8 hours my 2 machines finished several CPU-only WUs, they uploaded fine and were listed on the "finished" stats page with their points as they should. However, reloading the same stats page (from my account page here) a few minutes later, suddenly there are less finished WUs than before, usually 1 or 2 missing. I must have missed something in the FAQ, but what is/could be the reason that finished WUs first appear and the suddenly vanish?? Any insight/explanation is highly appreciated, thanks in advance. Regards, Tobias |

Results get purged from the database after some period (which I think right now is set to 2 days) so they disappear from the stats pages. |

Hello Matt, I just checked, but the oldest finished WU is from March 7/8 (MW and nbody), so it does not seem to be the 2 days limit. When I posted my question I had above 200 WU's on my profile stats page in total, now there are 194 in total. But anyway, a steady removal of old WU's is understandable to not overflow the databases. I do seem to get the targeted points in any case. :) Thank you for the fast reply and explanation. Regards, Tobias |

Hello Matt, Those did not get validated until just a day or so ago. On both of them the wingmate either never ran it or aborted it and it was sent to someone else to run and the returned it. |

Results get purged from the database after some period (which I think right now is set to 2 days) so they disappear from the stats pages. To expand a little bit...if the results were left online for you to see them forever they could get quite extensive and be pointless time wasted from the Projects perspective, so they are moved off line, ie purged, from our view. ALL Boinc Projects do this, it makes the Server faster as it has less data to put on screen when we click the button. Purging does not mean credits lost, you can see your numbers going up as you crunch. One place is to the left under your name, another is if you click on My Account and you can see more details. But once purged the units are not available for us users to look at ever again, as far as we are concerned they are gone. And actually they mean nothing to us, we got them, crunched them, returned them and then got another batch. If you click on one of your units, under the My Account on the webpage, you can see you will see several columns, one is the workunit itself, then the projects status of that work unit etc across the page. It will also show you whether your 'wingman' has returned the unit or not and if so if the status is good or not. Maybe it is you waiting on him, maybe it is him waiting on you. |

Even though the results disappear after 2 days are you tracking the failed/errored tasks in any way past that time? I'm curious both in regards to: http://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway/forum_thread.php?id=2856 I am also curious to what type of interfaces you use to monitor volunteer computing computational task submissions and what metrics you track (success rate, failure rate, validation but inconclusive, throughput time, etc). |

The ops pages will show you failure rate per OS and per error code over the last 24 hours or 7 days (although the 7days probably only actually works over the last n-days results were saved from). They aren't that great but I occasionally look through the most popular errors to see if there's a problem. Nearly all the errors are driver problems of one form or another at any given time. |
