Hello all, I would like to know if it is possible to crunch wus with my 4870 for Milkyway and others projects (Donate, Collatz...) with my 6870 in the same computer ? I have installed my 6870 with catalyst 12.10 and after I have connected my 4870 without catalyst. Boinc 7.0.28 see my 2 cards, I have made some exclude_gpu in the cc_config. But all my Milkyway wus go ko immediately (problem of OpenCL bad version). Do I have to install catalyst 12.6 for my 4870 ? Can I install catalyst 12.6 (4870) & 12.10 (6870) ? If yes, in which order ? Should I create a app_info ? (if yes, please make me the correct file) (sorry for my english, I'm french) [AF>Occitania] Meteore31 Nb : With the 4870 all wus are ko for Milky, but also for collatz, donate, etc... The 6870 works perfectly. |

Hello all, Yes you can do it but it will take some manipulating of the cc_config file to do it. What you need to do is tell Boinc to NOT use the 6870 here at MilkyWay and to NOT use the 4870 at some other project. Here is an example of a cc_config.xml file that sort of works but should be better with a few tweaks: <cc_config> <options> <use_all_gpus>1</use_all_gpus> <exclude_gpu> <url>http://http:/moowrap.net/</url> <device_num>0</device_num> </exclude_gpu> <exclude_gpu> <url>http://boinc.thesonntags.com/collatz/</url> <device_num>1</device_num> </exclude_gpu> <report_results_immediately>1</report_results_immediately> </options> </cc_config> You can see the file is telling Boinc to exclude gpu 0 at Moo and telling Boinc to exclude gpu 1 at collatz. You probably WILL need to install the catalyst for the 4870 but I am not certain. When you first start Boinc go into the Event Log and see what it says about gpu's near the top, it should have 4 lines about the gpu's since you have two of them. If it doesn't say it found both of them then yes you will! One more thing do you have a monitor, or dummy plug, plugged into each gpu? If not that could also be the problem. Making a dummy plug is easy and directions are here: http://www.overclock.net/t/384733/the-30-second-dummy-plug |

For the 4870 you need cat 12.4, the openCL driver in newer cat versions do NOT support that card anymore. openCL in Version 12.6 and later needs at least a 5xxx series card. |

Plz write down your result if you bring it to work. I will face this problem in i think 2 months too with a 4850 and a 7950. ^^ DSKAG Austria Research Team: http://www.research.dskag.at |
