Hi,

I had 2 runs pop up with "computation error" a week or so ago. I am quite sure they were caused by some system problems I was having (a couple of lockups, unrelated to Boinc) at the time, however I can't make those two entries in my task list go away, though they are not running any more of course. They were both ps_nbody_100k_1_30_13 runs. Other runs have done fine both before and since.

So, I did some searching, and see a lot about how to deal with computation errors, but not this particular issue.

Is there a trick to purging them from my list? Or even better get them to clear out and start over?

I would assume the client reported the errors back to the server: am I correct? Or do I need to do something?

I see they have a deadline of Feb 14th. Will they go away then?

Thanks!

-Mike

Other than hiding your computer there is nothing you can do to make them go away. But they'll disappear in a few days, don't worry about them.

Yes they will go away as soon as someone else crunches them and your results are no longer needed, and yes that should happen the 14th or a little after. The only thing that could change that is if the next person has problems with the units and they don't return it, then it could hang around for a bit longer for you. The best thing though is to ignore it as it really doesn't make any difference to you anymore. They call them 'ghost units', you can't crunch them but the server thinks it is still assigned to you until the deadline comes and it sends it out to someone else, and your results are no longer needed.

HEY, long time no see...how are you doing? How's the S-N-O-W? I am STILL relatively snow free, got almost an inch once and got a dusting a couple of other times, which is PERFECT for me!!

Unfortunately it just happens sometimes, I have had pc's just crash with no way to get back the lost units and they just 'die on the vine' too!
