Hi, Everyone. I am hoping for some (general) help. I love astronomy and the like and came upon this site from an article I recently read. Figuring I could help out with a cause that I'm interested in, I signed up and here I am. Annnnnd that's the problem. I have NO idea what I'm doing, I'm not very computer-intelligent at all when it comes to numbers and codes (going through some of the MB topics on here and I'm pretty much like...Whaaaa???) and have no clue what credits are or what to do with them. Basically I'm looking for a Q/A section to help me answer some basic questions. I don't even know what the programs are doing when they show up on my screen saver. Number crunching? I kind of feel like I'm in way over my head in regards to how much one needs to know about astronomy and/or computers. Any "nudge" in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. Again, sorry to be a pain with "newb" questions but I'm really interested in this and want to know where to get my feet wet; I feel like I opened a new book halfway and started reading :) Thanks in advance for any help. -Chris |

Welcome to the project. You are doing just fine and do not need to change anything. As far as credits go, all the credits in the world and $5.00 will buy you a coffee at Starbuck's. That is, they have no value at all, they're simply a measure of what you have done. The way to learn more is to click on some of the links and read what you find, it will begin to make sense in due course. |

Thanks for the reply, This is all very new to me but like you said, over time I imagine it will become clearer. Thanks again! |
