Hi,

currenty I have 6 WUs running on my Titan @ DP.
My app_cofig looks like this:

<app_config>
<app>
<name>milkyway</name>
<gpu_versions>
<gpu_usage>0.2</gpu_usage>
<cpu_usage>0.25</cpu_usage>
</gpu_versions>
</app>
<app>
<name>milkyway_separation__modified_fit</name>
<gpu_versions>
<gpu_usage>0.2</gpu_usage>
<cpu_usage>0.25</cpu_usage>
</gpu_versions>
</app>
</app_config>

However, I'm not sure if everything is set corretly. I have an i5 3570K (4 threads) running as well. One WU takes around 6 min. Seems a little to long for me.

What setting do I need to tweak?

Stop using your cpu cores, just suspend the cpu units or project, and your units should speed up alot. It seems to me that your gpu needs more cpu time but isn't getting it. Since a gpu can produce around 10 times the work of a cpu core, it makes more sense to run more gpu units then cpu units. The rule of thumb is to leave a single cpu core free for every gpu, but since you are running 6 units at once on your gpu, you may need to leave 2 or even 3 cpu cores free just to keep the gpu fed and running optimally.

Thanks for your reply.

But how do I "free up a core or two?"

I have no CPU tasks running at all (CPU usage disabled in MW account). But it still takes 6 min+.

I don't understand then, you said "I have an i5 3570K (4 threads) running as well." That meant to me you are also using all 4 cores of your cpu to crunch cpu units someplace, it could even be at some other project. Am I mistaken? If so then I have no idea what could be going on.

Nope, I just wanted to let you guys know that I had an i5 3570K with 4 threads. But they are not being used to crunch.
