..although it seems to be doing what you said it would do, but I have no WUs to test it on.

"Oh, mister optimised app, I cannot test you...
For I have no work units to crunch on."

I'll listen too! If I hear it you really did something unusual!!

You must have done it properly there was no BIG Bang that I could hear?

By my calculations it will be another 12 1/2 hours before the singularity I created is large enough to devour the Earth.

Never underestimate my ability to totally screw up something supposedly straight forward.

I haven't. I talked you through all this a year ago, and you told me you had it sussed. Sigh ;-(

I made someone a self-extracting zip, it just chucked the files in the right place at the push of a button...

I made someone a self-extracting zip

Hi Phil

How did you manage to do that, and did someone object to finding himself in that condition?

Go away, I was asleep

Thats because when youre all deflated inside the thing, you cant reach the SFX code on the outside that shoves you back into the world.

Is it possible that the information included in this thread early on, about optimisation, be edited into a separate permanent page? This would include the links to zslip and cpuid - and can be linked from the front page and updated when necessary.
All the funny(?) and otherwise interesting chit chat about GPU applications are not relevant to the initial topic and has made it difficult to find the useful information.

If you're looking for the optimized apps just remember creditsathome.

Sorry, what was that again? At my age I tend to rely more on computer memory than my own!
The suggestion was mainly to help newcomers to MW. But that's pretty academic really unless you can get units to crunch.

I haven't had any work for ages, I was wondering if it were just me.

creditsathome.com is a domain name that Misfit owns which he has forwarded to zslip.com.

zslip.com has already enabled newcomers to find the information needed to download and install the optimized applications for both CPU and GPU. You can try and find the original download sites or get then from creditsathome.com where you can also find the optimised application downloads.

creditsathome.com hands it all on the best 'one-stop' plate that you will currently find for MilkyWay optimized apps.

If you're looking for the optimized apps just remember creditsathome.

I found I've got four! Can I send you a couple or shall I put em on Ebay?

Given their rarity value, why not offer them to a museum? ;-)

What's an uncrunched MW Work Unit look like in this reality?

At least on my quad with the 4830.

The other 2 machines take a little bit longer to do them.
