Adding a 4870

I want to keep the gtx for the display and use the 4870 only for crunching MW. Also I am running the current boinc, is there anyway to tell if the protected install is off or on. I know the default is off but where can I look to make sure? Thanks for the help. oh ya, I was going to use 9.1 and .19b. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Hi Patrick ..... based on my experience under Vista I'd say not. OK to mix types of nVidia cards - but not ATi & nVidia. I found Vista disabled the card in the second PCI slot as incompatible with the VGA drivers ..... I presume from this that Vista is only able to use a single set of drivers at a time. I don't run Vista, but have helped a few people with Vista boxes. How to tell? I can only assume that on Vista, when you reboot your box and before you log in, is BOINC running? If not, then it is not in protected mode. If yes, then it is installed in protected mode. Have I said today how much I despise and hate Vista! To answer your question about the dual cards..
