Slight correction:- the HD2400 is crunching very nicely for Moo! and Collatz.

Not for MW@H ... no tasks supplied.

So if your project does not supply tasks that your otherwise OK setup crunches OK - complain to that project admin.

Ergo - this is a complaint to the MW@H project admin ... MW@H does not give my HD2400 any tasks. Specifically MilkyWay@Home 0.82 (ati14)

FWIW it used to, many moons ago - but not anymore.

I have HD3850's (AGP) and an HD2400 (PCI not -E) crunching very nicely ... check my credits :-D

My advice is to get the BOINC version and Catalyst version that works then stick to it.

HTH, Ray
FWIW(1) it took me HOURS over DAYS to get the right mix.
FWIW(2) ignore those irritating pleas from BOINC to use the latest version.
FWIW(3) ignore the temptation to update drivers to the latest & greatest. If you do/there are other reasons why you need to update your drivers and then BOINC suddenly can't crunch don't blame BOINC/Project(s).

Never mind.
Clicked Reset project. Waited for an hour with no progress.
Clicked Update. Got 24 MilkyWay@Home v0.82 (ati14) tasks.
Sorry for the intrusion here.

FWIW never had to to that before IIRC.

Okay I am sorry about that. I am going to pull all Win32 down so you shouldn't get any more MWSMF runs.

Hi.
I've run out of GPU tasks [MilkyWay@Home v0.82 (ati14)]. Is that because of the quote above?
I have switched to Moo! for now.
HostId 231173 which has 6,994,430 MW@H credits almost all via "ati14" tasks.
TIA, Ray

Travis please respond ...

I think SubsetSum is most in need of tender loving care since there has been no progress/work available from 29 June.

To clarify:-
There are 1,229 contributors to SubsetSum.
There has been nothing from you about that project since the date above, now 2 months ago, despite many polite requests from various participants.

I'm posting a message on that project forum quoting your following message and http://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway/show_user.php?userid=159 link as I'm sure there are many people on that forum who would like to know your priorities.

For example
I just recently implemented a badging scheme over at wildlife@home http://volunteer.cs.und.edu/wildlife and it would pretty easy to do the same here.

Put another way ... if the SubsetSum project is dead just Retire it and we can all go happily dancing off into the sunset. :-)

Got a full load of CPU WUs here on CPU only system

I've had some too. Whoot, whoot.
Thanks all!

Give it some time. If you wait, they will come. ;-)

Thx. I have great faith in the MW@H team responding to accurate reports about problems.

I don't have faith in rainbows, unicorns nor absent CPU task-get attempts that might reappear at some indeteriminate time in the future as long as cross my fingers.

Positive in every way given proof.

No CPU tasks for many days.
All GPU tasks OK. Tons of 'em.

Instead I'm running SETI (V7 & V6) CPU tasks, OK.

Running BOINC 6.12.34.

Please, please don't ask me to update/upgrade anything ... my stuff just works, OK!

Best Regards, Ray
FWIW if I click "Update" MW@H seems not to even try to get CPU tasks!!!???

Just got loads of GPU tasks for HD3850 completing nicely. Thanks.

But no CPU tasks for the Gallatin, that is down to it's last WU received today before noon (UK summertime).

My other computer is running a HD 3870
Oooh - if only AGP (all refs came up with "spelling error" being actually HD3850.)

Like arkayn said ...

My 3 x HD3850 AGP cards crunch MilkyWay@Home v0.82 (ati14) tasks with ease, undervolted, and have done so for many moons.

There's an opencl ati version available, any reason this can't be used?
... if only it were possible to run opencl on these cards (sigh).

MilkyWay@Home v0.82 (ati14) tasks required, please.

Is it me or do all WU's suddenly required longer to crunch?

Check my stats e.g., ATI GPU 30% longer, most CPU tasks require about the same extra but on an Android machine (ODROID-X) can take more than 60% longer 46,362.69 seconds/12.87 hours where it used to be 27,830.55/7.73 hours???

Credits-per-wu appear to have increased so maybe it all balances out in the end?

1 fail in 13 (so 12 OK) in the past hour using a good old HD3850 AGP card.
IMHO it's not the driver:- unless you've updated in which case ... good luck ... it's faulty WU's which seem to appear irrespective of hardware???

OK, a bit weird I know ...

On this one PC all GPU WU's failed after 4 seconds with Computation Error. Tens of 'em. I sensed this because I was typing stuff on this PC and everything ran much quicker. LOL!

So, checked GPU results - all fails.
Suspended Project.
Cold-booted.

Next GPU WU completed OK.
And the next one.
Anthe next one is currently at +75% ... looks OK now.

HTH, Ray
XP Pro SP3, HD3650 AGP, BOINC 6 12.34, CCC 11.8 (8.881) ... all installed for a looong time on this one PC.

Upped voltage from 0.974 (yep way, way undervolted, my choice).
99% sure that's the problem... I checked some results and they dropped into "Pending. Outcome Success. Validation inconclusive. Checked, but no consensus yet".

Then drastically dropped GPU from std 669 & Mem from std 829 - just in case 'tho heat wasn't ever a problem at that voltage.

Re-checked & so far OK? Conclusion - might have a crippled card ...

Simple solutions - which seem to work pending more, manual cross-checking - I like.

Thanks, "Link" for the support and the "keep it simple" approach to problem solving - saved me hours of what-if/maybe answers

:-P

Started up a PC today after leaving it off for a while. Have now got:-
116 (new) failed GPU WUs.
70-odd other "Pending. Outcome Success. Validation inconclusive. Checked, but no consensus yet".
3 more OK.
Previously this PC worked fine.
I have not updated anything (as it was switched off).

See http://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway/result.php?resultid=260073423 as an example.

What?

we can make

ATI v0.82 CAL app XP SP3 (32-bit) works.
ATI v0.82 CAL app W7 SP1 (64-bit) failed.

out of it. The issues were not limited to the HD3850 GPUs.

I kinda guessed because so many people said (or implied) that the "latest" WUs caused problems on their various GPUs runing W7 64 bit.

Reminder:- I rebuilt my W7 SP1 (64-bit) PC back to XP SP3 (32-bit) to make the "latest" WUs work on my HD3850 AGP hardware.

Kindly, I ask ... what's the answer?
