1) Message boards : Number crunching : Work fetch poor (Message 49037)

Post:
Hi,

since yesterday my systems need to be updated manually from time to time.
The whole bunch of wu's is uploaded and ... nothing more happens for an hour or so, if no manual intervention happens.
In 'Earlier Days' there were never more than three wu's uploaded and not picked up automaically.
Or, when only two ore three wu's where left uncrunched, the finished wu's were picked up and new ones delivered.
I'm not shure, but maybe this came along with the new boinc version which I've installed two days ago.

Are there workarounds?

I have the same problem.

Looks like we have the new drives installed. I've started things up and running, let me know how they go.

I'm hoping tomorrow we'll be able to get the server code updated so we can automatically send out ATI GPU applications, and test out the new BOINC credit scheme.

We waiting!

Lets wait how the NEW credit reduction is gonna be
Or its gonna be here i come collatz
I even am thinking of turning off all projects as long as mister Anderson is alive.

The irony is that people complained for years about cross-project parity, and when steps are made to try and address that problem more complaints come across :)

The new credit scheme is honestly just a way to track credit in a project independent manner so when new projects come along they don't have to deal with all the credit issues.

I know you all want to think there's some big brother keeping you down in the credit ranks, but honestly Dave and the rest of us really want to make it so that credit is distributed correctly across projects in some kind of fair manner.

Honestly, we're really not so smart, which is why it's not been so good in the past. The new credit scheme is to try and make things better, really :)

Travis, i am afraid all the crunchers with gpu will move to Collatz.

Well now that the conditions that gave birth to MW_GPU have reoccured I think its time to START MW_GPU, everyones time n' money is being wasted when they cant get or even report WUs! Time for action, the fix for the problem is OBVIOUS! Please do what you said you were going to do this time. We do really need the 2nd site now, I'm sure keeping things as they are is going to( and already has) cause people to go elsewhere.

Second that. My 7 Ati 4870 happely crunhing Collatz.
