Thanks, I had forgotten I needed to rename files when Iupdated the drivers. Have done that, and will see how things change when I can get more work :)

Thanks, I have downloaded the GPU app and the new BOINC and installed them. Just waiting now to see if that fixes things alongside the dll filerenames :)

I tried resetting the project, and as I expected it made no difference. After all, it is the server that tells BOINC I have a daily quota of only 30 tasks.

I use BOINC 6.6.20 and ATI app 0.19f, which I believe to have ben the latest for quite some time now :)

Also, I am using the latest catalyst/drivers. I cannot see how that would affect my daily quota, and I am pretty sure I have had some successful tasks since installing it (although only a very small number of errors show up in my stats, it seems to purge far too quickly to look over completd tasks and check for problems!).

The ATI driver package I installed is the latest from ATI, filename 9-11_xp64_dd_ccc_enu.exe (I am running on XP64). CCC version is 2009.1104.959.17837. The driver version is 8.671.0.0. Card is an HD4850

I'm getting the following error messages in BOINC:

30/11/2009 15:00:24 Milkyway@home Sending scheduler request: Requested by user.
30/11/2009 15:00:24 Milkyway@home Requesting new tasks
30/11/2009 15:00:34 Milkyway@home Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks
30/11/2009 15:00:34 Milkyway@home Message from server: No work sent
30/11/2009 15:00:34 Milkyway@home Message from server: (reached daily quota of 30 tasks)

The only tasks I can see in my stats that finished with an error are 8 over a 5 day period, so errors at my end are not the problem :(

I just checked my ATI host, and it would appear I am currently getting no work as I have reached my daily quota of a mere 30 tasks. I can do that much work in well under an hour, so wonder why that limit has been put into effect? Is it a bug that is going to be fixed, or a deliberate action to restrict what work we all do? I noticed it when I potted my RAC for all projects combined had dropped from 40-50K to about 13K.

I just love pigeon french (or is that franglais?). You gotta be English with an understanding of French to know what it all means :)

Google says:

I say peep of the engish have this thingy about the toilet humor

babelfish (on yahoo) says:

I say piaulements, l' engish have this thingy about l' mood of toilet!

liguatec says:

I tell cheeps, engish have this thingy about the mood of grooming!

A few of us have suggested larger wu in the past. I remember Travis saying that would not happen (then 2 days later the size was increased!). I still think that would be a great idea, and not just for people with GPUs.

I don't mind tasks taking 12 hours, as long as they are stable and have regular checkpoints :)

I'm not going to quote anyone here...but I WILL be so glad when all this is over so I can read something worth while again on these forums...

LOL

I'm just waiting to see what the next ongoing argument will be about, and whether it is here or on some other projects fora :)

I don't care how the work is ultimately organised here, I just want to prove that I am better than someone else (I won't know who until it is proved though, so I just gotta keep trying :) )

I fell out of my wheelchair when I was racing my mate down the hill in it. I broke a wheel in a pothole. I swear they only put the hole there to catch me!

No, no..... that pothole just jumped right out in front of you in a suicide attempt!

That's so true, but you just don't get it. It specifically waited for ME. It didn't jump out in front of anyone else, or a car or anything. It waited for ME!

I've only got one complaint today. I wish I didn't have to keep waking up every day! That one night I could just sleep and not wake until someone finds a cure for this damn depression that rules my life!

Is anybody here getting ANY work? I haven't been able to get a single WU since early last night..

Dang GPU folders taking all the WU's..the people behind the scenes shouldn't be allowing GPU folders to jam the servers like is happening..

Are GPU folders that are crunching this data even suppose to be? I thought these WU's were for CPU folders?

I thought the project was here for the science. However the work is done, what matters is that it is done.

The fact that some of us competitive and spend out for hardware that can do the job faster, or that others have the money to support the science in the same way, that should not be an issue.

When I read your post, I had to check whether my GPU had any work, and babysit it until it had. I don't normally do that the way I just did :)

Yeah, I will do what work I can with my GPU until the GPU project is available, and yeah I will also do what work I can for this and other projects with my CPUs for as long as I can afford the electricity bill :)

My current target is to get in the op 10,000 on BOINC combined (as shown in BOINCstats). I'm getting close, then will set my next target :)

Glad we're all appeased now :)

You make it sound like you had to sacrifice a couple of goats and perform sacred rituals.

You mean that you just sat back while some of us sacrificed our first-born?

The trolls have started early.
I too got a friend request from Misfit - No!
Also one from Ice - yes!

This post is well out of order.

I looks very much like verstapp is saying that Misfit is not a troll, but "yes!" Ice is.

Whatever the meaning he intended, accusations of "trolls" should be relegated with flaming to permanent bans.

I read that post as a flame as well, although I read it as saying that he accepted your friend request and not misfit's.

Please don't register for the gpu site yet. I'm still not done with it and the database is going to get refreshed (which means all you accounts are going to get deleted).

Ah, that would explain how come I am user ID #8. I should have read the forums before I registered there, but was more concerned to make sure I am working than communicating :)
