I think this is getting overlooked or ignored.

Indeed, I guess so too. :-(
Does anyone know if and how it is possible to customize your browser yourself this way?

AMD SSE3_64

Hi speedimic.
Just finished the first two results with the 64-bit version.
Here's one example.
Unfortunately it takes about 24 minutes, which is about 2 1/2 times longer than the Windows one.
Gives a good result anyway, but it's not worth the 64-bit and so gives less credits.

Just wanted to try this one out, but it gave me a "Not found"-message...

All compiled with Intel icpc from the original code.
All tested against the test wus and giving exactly the same result.

Can you make them AMD compatibel?
I just tried it out and it didn't run of course. :-\

zslip is updated.

Hi Ice.
Only a little hint:
You should mention on the site that these are only Windows apps.
Someone could mistaken them for Linux ones. ;-)
The most who come there will know it from here, but just to make it sure. ;-)

PS. Hey, Travis or Dave, how do you like these favicons? When do we see the 'winner' favicon here on the MW site? :-)))

Well, after telling the stats at wednesday there were some other votes again, now it looks like this:
Coris ones:
1.)
2.)
3.) 11
4.) 1

Ices ones:
5.)
6.) 11
7.) 17
8.) 2
9.) 17
10.) 1

7 and 9 are equal. :-\
We give it some days again, the last day to vote I now declare January, 20th!!!
Should have done that earlier. Unfortunately I have no mod status here, so I can't edit my first post or close the thread, but I hope, you all understand that!

Number #9 is the WINNER after this!!!

Now it's up to our admins to use it.
Would be a shame, if the icon couldn't be used because they don't know how to set it up... ;-D

What are they for ...

A favicon is used in your browser. It appears in the field beside you are seeing the adress URL (depends a bit on what browser you are using). It is also stored if you add an URL as bookmark to your browser, then you will see it besides the bookmark. And it's used beside the open tabs in the browser also.

What are the project admins saying ? =)

Guess it's kinda hard for them to choose between all of the suggested icons. ;-)
Since we have enough now, we should decide with a voting contest, I'll open up a new thread.
No more suggestions now please. ;-)

#2 looks too much like the symbol used at Ramseys. ;-)

Is it only me? Or is there a problem with the links?

Nevertheless a good idea, I also missed an appropiate favicon.

Btw:
Nice sig, Cori. :-D

v6.4.5 ... About as new as they get ... ;)

Okay...
Seems you can put another bug of it to this thread here. ;-) (I see you already posted another thing there)
Maybe a downgrade helps then.
As far as I can say, I'm still using 6.3.21 and never had any problems with it, no matter if it's GPU- or MilkyWay- or other work...

I have this Project set to "Suspended by user & Won't get new Tasks" yet every time I turn around I have Wu's trying to Download to various Box's of mine & their messing up my Internet Connections for the other Projects I'm running.

I don't want them, I don't need them & I'm not going to run them at this time so "STOP SENDING ME ANY MORE FREAKING WORK" ... ;)

What BOINC client version are you using?
I remember one of the previous versions had a bug in this and leaded to this behaviour, but I forgot which version.
Try to update to another newer one then.
39) Message boards : Number crunching : post milkyway_windows_intelx86 problems here (Message 7755)

Post:
I allowed a host attached to MW a couple of weeks ago to crunch some MWs. However BOINC couldn't download the executable astronomy_1.22_V3_win32.exe...
...
To help people in the same circumstances as me but not so advanced in using BOINC I'd like to suggest putting the right .exe back.

That is no glitch.
The V3_win32.exe was the one from Milksop and was never available on the MilkyWay server, you downloaded that from another source. ;-)

In advance, whoever combined this app with an app_info.xml a project reset normally doesn't work, I discovered.
You have to de- and reattach to the project to get rid of this app.
40) Message boards : Number crunching : credit comparison to other projects (Message 7525)
Posted 7 Dec 2008 by Profile DoctorNow
Post:
Well, of course the project stats at BOINCstats look horrible, but I think this is more due to the reason, that there are no WUs for Milksops app anymore which could give overwhelming credit.
But if you look at the user stats you see a slight increase of active users in the last two days.
It's not representative in this short time of course, but I don't think much users have given up on this project. When, then only the "credit whores" who enjoyed their time. ;)
