Work great on my 3 fermi cards as well - this is great news...

Will these work with an 8800GT (512Mb)??

Yes it does, but there is not currently a fermi app for Milky way so you will need to wait a little while..

AFAIK they are working on one..

I already crunch Rosetta and would like to stay within the BOINC umbrella if I can..
AFAIK - seti is the only one supporting fermi at the moment in the astromony field, and Id like to stay with 'space sciences' if possible as that is my main interest. I was just wondering where I can find info on the development status for MW3 and fermi as there is not much out there

Thanks for that link...

I think I was getting confused - sorry! I will try and find the links again, but I can remember reading when googling forum posts of people crunching MW on GTX470/480's..

What does the version 0.5 app bring - is it fermi compatible? Or am I better leaving well alone..

Thx again

That app didn't work - it was the cuda 2.3.

On the apps page there aer two versions of the 0.3 app, one for cuda 2.3 and one for cuda 3, both released on the 22nd April. THe v3 app is not listed on the optimised apps page, so does anyone know where I can get it???

They were withdrawn from sale early this year by Nvidia who pretty much removed their entire top end products from the market. Up until Fermi release you would have expected to pay aroung £280-£300 for a 2nd hand model on ebay, but prices are begining to come down now.
You won't be able to find them in any stores now, only 2nd hand Im afraid. There are two versions, the original dual PCB version, and the improved single PCB version. If you can, go for the single PCB version, as there have been issues with getting both gpu's to work on the dual PCB models - some cards work, some doont..
My primary project is seti and I sold my 295 and bought a GTX470 which seemed the way to go, very overclockable and I can run 3 tasks at the same time on 1 gpu - cant wait to crunch MW on it, but the app is not there yet :-(

We can show you where to get it, only problem is there is no work for MW3 currently.

I think this is all that will be required app and dll wise.

app_info will have to be gotten from someone else as I do not know the exact syntax needed.

Well Im 50% nearer than I was so your help is appreciated...

Could do with a confirmation on what is happening with this?
I have read that the version 3 of the GPU app is working well, but where to get it and how to install it? I presume it is an app_info edit, but can someone post the steps needed?

Thx

Sorry to be a noob, but Im getting confused.
I joined Milyway_GPU to try the CUDA apps, and yes I get the same error
Server error: feeder not running

And yet when I look at the boinc messages tab, I can see normal milkyway requesting GPU apps - should this be the case as I have no ATI gpu's only nvidia?

After reading this post, Im wondering if there is any point in trying Milyway_GPU if it has been down since May...
