I cannot second that. I am crunching only modified fit wu and i couldn't notice any increase of credits after first of September. What I really notice is a significant drop of my RAC since the start of the new runs. Look here:
against

The credits dropped to about 75 % measured against the start of the new run.

I think one explanation is necessary to my last post.

The credits I got form boincstats were not mine, but the credits of the whole M@H community. So the credit for the whole community dropped.

Thanks Jake for your answer.

One remark in front of your discussion. My credits/day dropped significantly for three tasks per GPU.

According to boincstats:
15.10.: 102,058,125 credits/day
16.10.: 101,192,925 credits/day
17.10.: 94,074,934 credits/day

So IMHO, a adjustment of the credits/WU is absolutely necessary.

That´s science on the leading edge. For me it is no problem to fine tune my crunching experience. :)

Now I got WU for the new app. My old app_config.xml didn´t work, because of the changed application name.

This one works:
<app_config>
<app>
<name>milkyway</name>
<max_concurrent>2</max_concurrent>
<gpu_versions>
<gpu_usage>1.0</gpu_usage>
<cpu_usage>0.05</cpu_usage>
</gpu_versions>
</app>
<app>
<name>milkyway_separation__modified_fit</name>
<max_concurrent>2</max_concurrent>
<gpu_versions>
<gpu_usage>1.0</gpu_usage>
<cpu_usage>0.05</cpu_usage>
</gpu_versions>
</app>
</app_config>

Thanks, swiftmallard. Then I will get WU for the new app-version.

Thanks Alinator.

I know about the app_info, because I used them a long time. Here I must make an entry for every application I want to use.

By now I´m using the app_conf-feature off boinc to adjust the CPU-usage of the GPU-app. My question is: Must I do this also for every application or is it for all GPU-apps of the project?

Hello,

do we need a new app_config.xml for the new 1.20 application?

Thank you for your answer!

Are there any WU in the field?

Can´t see any in the server stats.

Sorry for double post, but I can't edit it:

I solve the problem. I rolled back driver to 12.6 and now the 13_2s_sscon_1 are shorter.

Yes, I use normally two WU per GPU.

I tried your hints. Here are the results:

target_frequency -> 60: about the same time
one WU per GPU: de_separation_13_2s_sscon_1 about 4s slower than all other tasks

Info: using Boinc 7.0.64 and a driver 12.6 or 12.8

I noticed that the amount of credits is much lower than for the other WU. On my 7950 on WU 13_2s_sscon_1 needs about the same time than the other WU but earn only 79.94 credits instead of 106.89.

I see a noticeable credit drop.

Can you please adjust the credits for this type of WU?

Thanks

I see that you are using an actual beta driver. Often new drivers aren´t optimized for GPU-computing, but for gaming. I´m using Catalyst 12.7 for crunching milkyway on my two 7950 (core clock 900 MHZ) without problems. Any newer drivers performed weaker for me. Maybe you try a rollback to an older driver

I have a few of this kind. They run without problems and finished in shorter time than the other WU. Until now I have to wait for my wingmen to validate.

Edit: Now I have one validated by my wingman. This one is OK!
