Both individual and project stats are updated in BOINC Synergy. Hopefully, it is automatic so you can go on and do other things. Keep up the good work!

"Actually as far as a stats xml update goes, the files should not be much bigger for a weeks update than for a days....just the new users signed on will make it a bit bigger."

Because crunchers are competitive, xml stats should be updated (automatically so you don't have to worry about it) at least once every 24 hours - many projects do it more frequently. This is not only so that crunchers can reflect their credits but it also gives transparency to the project as a whole as to the number of people participating, how much data is crunched, etc.
Getting the xml stats up was a big first step. Getting them to update automatically, putting some news on the front page, and eventually getting a graphic would be excellent next steps to prepare for dramatic growth.

same with my signature on BOINC synergy. This project is a really great project that has made amazing progress in a short amount of time. Automatically updating the XML stats and some news on the front page on how we are doing would be good next steps.

Great feedback! You may want to put some or all of it on the front page.

Great job in generating so much work! What's up with the latest batch? Do you like what you see? Are there any surprises? Do you need more crunchers? You might want to put if you are pleased or disappointed on the front page.

[quote]For windows XP I get the message "11/7/2007 10:57:11 PM|Milkyway@home|Message from server: (there was work but you don't have enough disk space allocated)" I have never put any limitation on disk space on any BOINC project.

I updated my general preferences to allow more of everything related to disk space and did get three work units. This is the only BOINC project I have had to do that for and you may want to mention it somewhere.

Like graphics, this is in the future after you get stable work units, but being able to export stats both individually and for the project would be a step in the right direction. It is good for individuals because they are competitive and it is good for the project because it shows you are transparent and in the big leagues with other projects.

It looks like some work units went out, but there were too few for everyone to get some. How did that batch turn out and is there a chance of more work units so you can solve all the mysteries of our favorite galaxy?

Any news, estimates, or guesses on when work units will be ready?

I know this is a very low priority since you don't have work units yet, but someday graphics would be nice. They don't have to be complex, just pretty to look at. I believe having graphics is a factor in the really big projects.

On the front page you may want to take away the part that says which BOINC version is preferred. Most (not all) people go with the latest regardless and this gives the impression your project is more fragile than it really is.

Thanks for the input... where is exactly did you see this?

My mistake-I confused you with superlink. Yours is great! Way to go on bringing this site so far so soon!

Thanks for the quick replies! I know this is also a low priority, but having XML stats someday would also be nice. That way we can compare ourselves with other projects and each other and see our progress.
For such a new project, I think you are doing great! My favorite projects aren't those with no problems, but those where the crunchers can communicate with the project. In that regard you are great!

I know it should be a low priority, but could you add graphics someday? It would not have to be complex, breathtaking, or beautiful - just nice to look at now and then.
