no problems here too since 113 application. what i can see is i beat down the work
~20 secs faster no matter if gs or ps :). happens to both of my computers.

maybe using gcc 4.2x was a good idea ^^

i found out some weirdness also. before the server took a break over the weekend i had like 3k results send back to the server from each of my pc. when the server came back online this was set to 0.i made it back to ~300 results/pc when the server start to send wu again. now i check my send back results and they are down to 20/pc again :o.

it looks more like they collect all workunits out to the clients.

the reference to the forums on the mainpage was made when the forum was totally broken. and i guess since the error messages on the top of the forums are more of cosmetic nature, the admins have this on low priority and deal with it when they have time/figure out what the problem is.

that means the gs_ work still give the fixed credits and the ps_ ones not.
im down to 0.79-0.85 creds for a ps_ workunit.

travis to the rescue :)

afaik newer versions of boinc like 5.10.28 can use 32 bit apps on plain amd64 systems. at least they said so in the einstein@home forums.

you can download the package here :

BOINC5.10.28

its not a .deb package but easy to install just do a chmod +x on the file you download and run it in the directory where you ant to install it.

this is a known problem already. the project admins try to fix that issue

the wu took a lot of time also. i have an amd64 3500 too and this one never need more then 278-280 sec for a ps_ workunit.

isnt it default that boinc switch between the projects you run on your machine every 60 minutes? at least my machines to that. it can be changed to highr/lower intervals in your boinc config.

12) Message boards : Number crunching : Please check this host (Message 608)

maybe the best solution would be to blacklist their accounts from all projects.
that would hurt "highscore" cheaters most.

out of sudden. the cheat hosts all have hidden computers now lol

just one more from the cheaters gang. check his cpu benchmark. maybe he brought a cpu from the year 2070 or something ;). best way to get rid of them is to have a quorom. fits niceley to almost all top hosts in this project all have silly benchmarks.

i just ask me if those fake clients do send bogus results and have effect to the science or do they just claim more credits.

if its just credits then let the kids play for the "highscore" its their energy they waste.

if it have effect to the science then the guys from the project should take action asap.

Who knows, with enough participants in the project -- you guys might beat out the 7th fastest supercomputer in the world! :D (see: http://www.top500.org/lists/2007/06 )

nope ^^

we will beat out only 12th fastest computer ;)

19) Message boards : Number crunching : more complicated work units (Message 329)
Posted 10 Nov 2007 by Profile agony
Post:
since the change with the worksunits i always get this on every unit :

2007-11-10 19:18:17 [Milkyway@home] Starting gs_5_1194771321_54_0
2007-11-10 19:18:17 [Milkyway@home] Starting task gs_5_1194771321_54_0 using astronomy version 107
gs_5_1194771321_54_0 (process exited with code 255 (0xff, -1))
2007-11-10 19:18:19 [Milkyway@home] Computation for task gs_5_1194771321_54_0 finished
2007-11-10 19:18:19 [Milkyway@home] Output file gs_5_1194771321_54_0_0 for task gs_5_1194771321_54_0 absent

now i have 8 units left in boincmgr all say computation error and nothing more happen here :(

edit:

this is what the result say

<core_client_version>5.10.21</core_client_version>
<![CDATA[
<message>
process exited with code 255 (0xff, -1)
</message>
<stderr_txt>
UNRECOGNIZED: suspend_if_no_recent_input
reading parameters file: parameters.txt
APP: astronomy reading volume from file: volume.txt
APP: astronomy Couldn't find input file volume.txt.

my problem seems to be a missing volume.txt. but all i have in my project folder is a volume2.txt dang :)
