I had it I stopped crunching GPU and milky way now its back should I try reloading the graphics driver ? its a ati 2 gpu 5900 I just restarted boinc techpowerup GPU was clicking right along the screen blacked and the gpu stopped running work . what would do this ? dang I just caught it again screen black for 2+ sec gpu stops processing - I had reset milky way and reloaded the current boinc . as a backup to keep the gpu busy I just suspended milky way and seti black screened and kill the gpu processing . I am baffled .

I have a dual GPU ati 5900 . it generally runs one unit . but sometimes it runs 2 and takes a cpu to itself . I just caught something odd . when I want to watch any video I have to stop crunching [ rosetta and milky way ] it appears if I stop / snooze the work unit it goes out to 40 hours and the GPU is not crunching and is idling at 98 degrees , I just aborted several and it appears the downward trend started a couple of weeks ago

also I swapped a 7800 / 7950 for this 5900 / is this a good idea the extra heat is OK for our short winter but summers are hot and humid so all energy has to be sucked out by an A/C unit . also any XML would be neat . but just idling on one gpu task
this card pulls 60 + watts more

I got a amd 5900 from a friend Installed it it ran one gpu at a time . then 2 days later it started running its own cpu core and 2 at the time and holy cow did it get hot . I had to back the clocks back to where it was running 3 min units at 165 degrees x 2 . then it hit the max and is puttering with one gpu unit and a shared core . does the scheduler make this difference ?? and holy cow it started pulling 34 amps of power . Is this card suited . any suggestions - I picked it up for DP
