MT and single-CPU point differences
(Message 59062)
Posted 23 Jun 2013 by MellowedWithAge Post: When I run an MT N-Body Simulation WU on 2 or more cores I average under 6 points per CPU per hour. Example WU: http://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway/workunit.php?wuid=385527079 (#520156 is me) When I run single CPU MilkyWay@Home WU's I average over 40 points per hour. Example WU: http://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway/workunit.php?wuid=386935266 Why the huge difference?? |

630 hour (est) task with 12 day due date
(Message 58583)
Posted 9 Jun 2013 by MellowedWithAge Post: Just got this task http://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway/workunit.php?wuid=361047651 requiring an estimated 14,547,000 Gflops to complete in 9 days!!! Put another way, BM estimates it will take 15136 hours (630 days). I know it takes time for the correction factor to kick in, but something is way off here. |
