Your personal background.
I was born in Fort Worth, TX, raised in Walnut Creek, CA and now live in Caballo, NM. I'm retired, so my hobbies include anything I feel like doing at the time. I have one child, she's a PhD. in Human Genetics and teaches at UVM. Two Grandsons, one son in law, eight rescue cats, four goats, and live on 5 acres in the middle of nowhere NM. The goats are my yard service, although we have disagreements as to what to eat and what to leave alone... I've been involved in SETI at home on and off since it first started back in the early '90's. In between I was folding proteins for Stanford University for a couple of years. I've been widowed since 2008, my husband was a 100% disabled Vietnam Vet. Science has always been my big interest, when my daughter was a young teen I started sending her to science camp every summer; that's a week long seminar for young women, taught by women of science. She came home every year wanting to be something else. But between that and a seventh grade science teacher who was wonderful, she stuck with science and got her BS at UCSD; in four years, and her PhD. at Columbia University; in five. Her thesis was on the Genetics of Autism, I learned allot about Autism during her Grad work. Her Thesis is very interesting reading, and she now has a text book out on Forensic Genetics, also very interesting reading.
Your opinions about MilkyWay@Home
I'm a Monty Python fan. I love the idea of synchronized computing. The SETI program is getting better all the time. I recommend it for anyone, especially those of us who let our computers sit idle for days at a time.
