Well I am pulling the plug, I am getting tired of my main system constantly and consistently crashing every few hours due to Driver and Boinc issues.
I have tried reinstalling, and read though the forums to try different things and versions and the issue keeps happening. My error log is filled with boinc conflicts and video driver crash entries.
It simply is not worth the headache anymore so I pulled the plug.

Since yesterday after stopping Bonic it has not crashed once.

Well you can still use your CPUs - those Q6600 put out 7-8k with no trouble at all...

Firstly it's a shame to see someone with your RAC give up. Secondly Win7 seems to have a lot of problems with Boinc. Lastly, I see you are using Boinc 6.6.36, try 6.4.7

It is not overheating, it is crashing from video driver crashes and Boinc errors. The fans work perfectly well and I clean the case about once a month. It is not overheating.
Even when it was not crashing, it would occasionally freeze completely ruining anything that I would be encoding, transcoding or burning in the process.
I am not sure what changed but when I first got this running under 7 everything was perfectly fine no issues at all. It has simply gotten progressively worse no matter what I attempted.

I will try 6.4.7 but the first crash or reboot it is shut down.
hell less than a minute and I have my freezing screen back... not looking good.

I had frequent freezes on my HD 3850 when I ran with default 3 concurrent tasks and also with n2 2 concurrent tasks. When I changed to n1 1 task at a time it was very stable for 6 weeks until it was retired. I have now upgraded to a HD 4890 and although it can run 2 or 3 tasks concurrently without problems on Windows 7 64 with Cat 9.4 drivers, I have again chosen to run only 1 task at a time. I use BOINC version 6.6.31.

May not help but just something you may wish to try if you haven't already.

What Video Card Driver Version are you using Boosted, my guess your problems are with the Video Card Driver Version your using and not the BOINC Clent.

I had some similar problems.

I was just about ready to trash the card I decided to try one more thing.

I pulled the cooling fins on the GPU cleaned and replaced the thermal grease, and re-attached.

Walla.

The only thing I can figure is that the cheapo thermal compound that was being used not transferring heat from the GPU to the cooling fins quick enough causing some overheating. OR there was just not a good enough seal between the cooling fins and the GPU. Anyway it fixed it.

These were Dark Knight brand 4870's
