Slow as molasses since yesterday. Constant page errors. Something needs to be done that will actually help this problem more than a day or week.

I'm glad you mentioned that. I was wondering if my laptop had seized up inside. I was about to try a pressure hose on it, but I expect it's doing its best.

Apparently it also doesn't remember when it has received uploaded files as well. Just had 4 rejected as being received already. Probably due to lost of communications back to the client that the uploads were received.

You can use a script to update to MW every 5 minutes, or you can use the "Scheduled Tasks" in Windows to do the same, or a cron utility such as VisualCron. But be aware that it will be polling the servers every 5 minutes whether the server went down or not.

Down for about an hour, but all back to normal now. Website times out about half the time, still, though.

Cheers

you can use the "Scheduled Tasks" in Windows to do the same

What command would we use in Scheduled Tasks to make BOINC poll MW every 5 minutes for work?

Scheduled Tasks won't poll a BOINC project, but it can be used to run a sript that does, say every 5 minutes.

Alternatively you can use a sleep command in a script to <poll, sleep for 5 minutes, go to step 1> - which doesn't need Scheduled Tasks.

You can, for example, schedule a task to execute a .bat file (in the specified directory) like this one (Win Vista) every five minutes:

c:
cd "c:\Program Files\Boinc"
"c:\Program Files\Boinc\boinccmd.exe" --project http://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway/ update

Forums are faster now than yesterday. This weekend I couldn't seem to get more than a simple text page.

Slow as a slug race.

Will this ever be fixed properly?

Yep, slow as a month of Mondays....but I'd prefer the web site to be slow than not get any work....oh hang on pretty much all my uploads and downloads go into retry and then soem end up in project back off.

Between that and computer lock ups, my RAC dropped a bucket load in the last 24hrs.

It requires the GPU users to not be hitting the server as much, so until / unless the project gets serious about making tasks take longer for GPUs, we will continue to have the slow web page response times...

Fix this stupid thing already. How much time can it take? Numerous offers were made to send you the stuff for another server for free. You also want donations but don't do anything, no posts, no nothing. Quit stuffing your faces with eclares and starbucks.
