First off I'd like the moderators to remove my previous thread which had no utility here. Or not, as you choose:
http://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway/forum_thread.php?id=1086

Problem: Every time one of my PCs contacts BOINC in the service of MW@H, MW@H is detached from that host. I have to manually reattach it. The default is daily.

Replies in my previous thread were of the order "try this, try that". I've got better things to do, but first thought I'd give er one more try. Very likely I'm dumb on the intricacies of the grid computing project. But not stupid. I don't have the time to dump time into recalcitrant projects.

So, if MW@H wants the benefit of my quad CUDA farm then someone will have to get it going. Lots of projects to choose from. I like the concept but so far the latest implementation consumes way too much effort.

S@H and Einstein are running just peachy, S@H since 1999. The successful correspondent will tell me what is going on (the engineer in me), and what to do about it (the engineering technician in me). Example from Messages:

This sounds like a bug with the BOINC client. I'd try emailing the boinc_dev mailing lists as they really know what's up with the BOINC software, and respond very quickly.

It may help a little if we knew the version of Boinc you are using, possibly also the OS you are running (32/64 bit), these may help as a pointer to something.

From where are you attaching to MW@h? From BOINC Manager on the computer or from BAM!? If you don't attach it to MW@h from BAM!, BAM! will detach MW@h at any contact your BOINC make to BAM!. That will also be the case for any other projects you attach to from BOINC instead of BAM! Newer versions of BOINC no longer allows you to attach to a project from BOINC Manager if that host is using an account manager like BAM!.

"try this, try that". I've got better things to do, ...

Sounds familiar. But then if we've got better things to do, why do we spend so much time on BOINC with "try this, try that" ?

It's a mystery. But then again, if you want it to work you have to
