Aside from MW (which is high end graphics cards only due to double precision requirement), and Collatz (which *requires* the 6.10.alpha BOINC client and which is now offline after making major changes with their 2.0 application), and GPUGrid (which is CUDA only and sometimes stops sending out work), and SETI (which is well, SETI), are they any GPU supporting projects operating at the moment?

In particular, are there any GPU projects NOT requiring GTX 260 and up nvidia cards or 38xx/48xx ATI cards or the 6.10.alpha BOINC client?

SETI@Home Beta ...

Aqua (I think they are off-line too for a day or so)

The Lattice Project (may or may not have work, last time I tried it had 10% failure rate)

As to Collatz, Slicker (I think i twas him) was running with 6.6.36 ... me I am running with 6.10.3 just fine (I think 6.10.4, .5, and .6 are all bent and unusable, but that is my opinion). And they are showing 988 in the queue right now ...

Well, I tend to avoid SETI for mostly.

Thanks for the pointer on Collatz -- I missed the advance notice regarding following yet another IP address change there -- I did the appropriate dns flush on my proxy server and then on the workstations and then stop/started BOINC -- that seems to have resolved things there.

Then again, I notice MilkyWay seems bereft of new work (and, with the various client of the day issues generated by BOINC, projects like Milkyway are getting hammered in terms of I/O storms).

Aqua dropped their GPU app due to poor performance issues compared to the multi-threaded CPU app.

Beta has no AP work until Monday due to database problems.

Collatz seems to be working for me, using 6.10.6 boinc. and seems to be stable now.

Good credits too.

Right -- it was their third IP change in the past couple of weeks -- I had to clear my proxy server cache/DNS and then start/restart BOINC.

Collatz seems to be working for me, using 6.10.6 boinc. and seems to be stable now.

Good credits too.

Well it and ABC seem to be the only high paying projects on the block this weekend.

ABC recently cut their credit by 75% when they released their new app. They doubled the credit a week or so ago, but it's still not back up to where it was. last time I looked they were trying to figure out how to get it the rest of the way up.

Collatz is good, and I used to run 3x+1. But their ATI units freeze up after an hour or so on my i7 w/ 4850. I think my card maybe overheating. plus it's only a 512m, which could be too small for their size wus. But possibly it's because I'm still running 6.6.36?

That sounds a little long with the 2.0 application. I am getting 17 minutes with a 4870.

It takes my 4830 27 minutes and my 4550 about 2 hours.

I like the collatz rocks too - requested credit = 0.01, credit given = 500+
Anonymous client works well for me, and its nice to have a spare gpu project to switch to whenever MW goes down.
Cheers,

Hey, Cappy!

Just to say that you've got good taste in sig. graphics & I still can't get my GXT260 to run with the 190.xx drivers - so nothing apart from GPUGrid for me - PG on CPU while Travis is trying to figure out what's goin' on!!

;^).

Cappy>every weekend
Same as I can switch cpu from cpdn to primegrid every weekend.
Perhaps I should set up a cron job... :)
Collatz says they'll be down next weekend for server maintenance [database restructuring, more disk], so maybe next weekend will be ABC...
Cheers,

PeterV

FYI,

I don't have any GPU hardware so I'm fuzzy on the details, but Einstein@Home has a CUDA beta for at least the Arecibo binary pulsar survey. It doesn't need double precision. I think they're still working on a CUDA (and ATI) apps for the LIGO data.
