Overtake is the concept that if you earn credit awards at your current rate you will overtake the person "ahead" of you in rank in so many days. So, assume that I am ranked as the 1,324th person in the list. If my overtake is 7 days, then it is projected that I would become the 1,323 person on the list at the end of 7 more days of processing.

This is more complicated than it seems because as you are overtaking some, who may not be contributing to that project at that time so they are static in position ... others may be doing more than you are and so will overtake you ... so ...

While you are overtaking some, others are overtaking you ... and some could not care less ... :)

Some care a lot about their position, most don't ... some care a lot about their RAC (essentially a measure of daily production, but a very bad metric) ... and some, like me, mostly race against themselves looking to balance donations or to set personal goals (this project to over 1,000,000 CS ... and so forth ...

It is just another aspect to enjoy as you wish ...
