Nah.. Thats not a philosophical question. But a very important,
skilled question.. ;-) If I shall be checked, I would like to
know who or what I`ll be compaired to.. ;-)

The psychological norm as determined by the "American Psychological Association". Now that's got to be useful ;-)

Anyhow - It would probably take more than one hour to come to a conclusion.
It could be interesting... ;-D

Depends on the payment plan. We could also start a poll to determine the nature of reality. That's got to be useful too...

Then there's the view that there's a multitude of relative realities overlying each other, only useful in their own context and particular plane of existence. That might be more useful.

And then stopped when the major league backlog slammed it. I don't know that Slicker is back in town, until he is -- Collatz is likely to be very problematic. I expect once he gets back in town, he'll shut down the web access to do open-project surgery, then let it work offline to clear internal backlogs (validator in particular) and then perhaps turn access back on.

He has equipment for an upgrade as well -- he might try to get that done at the same time.

As to MW, it IS the weekend and the admin staff quite likely won't deal with the new drive install until Monday.

OOPs someone lost a bet Collatz is starting to work...:)

The drought is starting to now getting some rain for the computer crops.:)

I hope that the moisture content maintains.:)

DD,

Yeah.. It`s all very interesting, and maybe useful.. but still we cant know
for sure before all eventualities are tried..
I do think youre right; It depends on the payment plan. ;-))
I think you should sort out someone with a better payment potential.. ;-D

Night night.. I should better leave, since this thrad is not about
reality in that term.. and I am being off-topic. ;-)

A Collatz trickle for me too.
I noticed one box had got a dozen WUs so I clicked Refresh on the next one and got half a dozen. By the time I got to the third it was back to the old 'project servers may be temporarily down'.
Cheers,

You're both wrong. It's the relative realities underlying each other, not overlying, that multiply the paradox of perculiar planes.

Hard luck, I got quite a few of ATI for each of my PC/laptops, but not too many of the slower type. Ho hum, we learn to be grateful for what we can get...

Would they be interested in an HD4850 or is that too slow?

It seems so, although it's hard to read through that thread and work out if only 5000 series can do it.

As Travis has already posted elsewhere on Thursday, the Hard Drives have arrived, now he is waiting for the Labstaff to install them, he hoped for Friday, but Friday being "POETS Day" - "Push Off Early Tomorrows Saturday", its more realistic to expect them to do it in the next few days.

I think he already had the new server mostly configured, it just needed to be installed.

Yes -- Slicker was proactive about responding to performance and stability issues -- as well as being quite good about communicating status to the supported client base. Something of a model to be followed.

Here, with a larger user base, a larger resource pool, and a longer project history......

I'm disappointed that here -- mid day back at RPI, we not only got no change in status, but also, we've no update regarding a proposed new timeframe. We are about to move past the reverse Wrath of Kahn timetable (1 to 2 days meaning 1 to 2 weeks). I have a sneaking suspicion with the holiday this week, that NO work will be done on the server until *sometime* *next* and that we'll not see a follow up update report until then.

I think he already had the new server mostly configured, it just needed to be installed.

I was on campus all day today trying to get to labstaff so we can get things up and running. I'm having the professors on the project take the issue to the next level because trust me when I say we want the server back up and running just as much as you guys (if not more).

Got new units. YES!!!
Now crunching using 0.20 ATI optimized app. 1 unit per minute.

Also, Is it possible to crunch 2 units using 1 GPU?

Not really ...

YOu can simulate that with the Gispel optimized applications with the settings fully described in the read-me, but it does not actually run both at the same time (or 3 or 4 however you make the settings)... it will possibly save you one or two seconds of "hand-over" time but that is the most you will see ...

The running of more than one task on the GPU is effectively an illusion ...

Sorry ...

Is there another feeder issue as I seem to be getting only one WU every two to three hours? No where near enough to keep my quad fed.

Looks like there was some database corruption last night (which maybe why you're seeing some database issues when looking at team information on the web page).

I'm in the process of getting that fixed, but I think before we start sending out more work steadily we'll need a new controller for the server. I've sent out emails to labstaff and my advisors to authorize buying one, so I hope we can have that in early next week.
