I'm somewhat confused in so far as I thought this project required a double precision gpu. If that is the case how come there are 12,402 active gpus' and only 6,688 double precision ones?

It is counting non double cards, what is in the systems.

What I find odd is this:

Total GPU teraFlops: 22,007.63
Total Active GPU teraFlops: 10,175.51
Total Active Double Precision GPU teraFlops: 8,359.40

Since only DP cards can be used that means single precision counts for more than half of the work being done on gpus. So how much of that is being done with altered apps that are turning in invalid work?
Doesn't expecting the unexpected make the unexpected the expected?
If it makes sense, DON'T do it.

And then you have this information that states that all of BOINC have a combined 'Average floating point operations per second' of 5,164.650 TeraFLOPS.

This make me feel like I have join Confusion@home ;)

Part of the confusion comes from the different ways used to calculate the numbers ...

Could it be that those SP GPU's are not crunching MW but their associated CPU's are and it's just bug in the info gathering?

So Slicker's numbers can be regarded as peak values?

Or perhaps, as it was Slicker that posted it, the data is for collatz and it is mislabeled and posted in the wrong forum.

I know I'm clutching at straws now, but the mystery remains.......
