Anyone else getting this web site when pulling up the Collatz site on the usual Home Page? Collatz should normally be on this URL - http://boinc.thesonntags.com/collatz/index.php But, on clicking it this web site appears - http://www.clear.com/ Is this the new ISP that Slicker is trialling, and has something has happened during the last 2 - 3 hours? Go away, I was asleep |

Yep, that is who he was trialing. Looks like they might have pulled the plug because of the contract terms. It was working up to 3:05 PM PDT and then just died. |

Yes and Slicker gave the reason here. Back to seeking a reliable ISP. I think he works from a strictly rural location and speed, bandwidth and relibility are the price. Go away, I was asleep |

Seems everywhere there are lazy ass linemen. Slicker said that comcast lines are a mess in his area. Its like where I live. My house is near the entrance of the subdivision and the post holding the lines (cable tv and phone) is near my fence almost beside the gate. The linemen just keep adding new cables whenever someone applies for a subscription but neglects removing the old lines when someone stopped their subscription. The cables looks like a bird's nest on that post sometimes the disconnected lines from the distribution boxes hangs over my gate. Nothing was ever done when I complain to the subdivision association so I end up complaining personally to 3 phone companies and 2 cable tv providers almost every year. |

There was a time when I saw them adding new lines. I asked politely if they can remove those unused wires since one of them is already up the post. They told me that they cant do that because its not included in their job order for that day. They told me that I have to file a complaint at the office so that another job order can be issued for cleaning their own mess. If I had pole long enough at hand, I might have poked him off that post. |

Sounds like the city workers saying they can't change the street lamp bulbs even if they see one is out, someone has to report it first. Doesn't expecting the unexpected make the unexpected the expected? If it makes sense, DON'T do it. |
