Hello

Could you help me change the app_info to receive the wu 0.21, nbody simulations and gpu? thank you

<app_info>
<app>
<name>milkyway</name>
</app>
<file_info>
<name>astronomy_0.21_x64_SSE3.exe</name>
<executable/>
</file_info>

<app_version>
<app_name>milkyway</app_name>
<version_num>21</version_num>
<file_ref>
<file_name>astronomy_0.21_x64_SSE3.exe</file_name>
<main_program/>
</file_ref>
</app_version>

<app_version>
<app_name>milkyway</app_name>
<version_num>20</version_num>
<file_ref>
<file_name>astronomy_0.21_x64_SSE3.exe</file_name>
<main_program/>
</file_ref>
</app_version>
</app_info>

For the n-body simulation you need a section line this:

<app>
<name>milkyway_nbody</name>
<user_friendly_name>MilkyWay@Home nbody Simulation</user_friendly_name>
</app>
<file_info>
<name>milkyway_nbody_0.03_windows_x86_64.exe</name>
<executable/>
</file_info>
<app_version>
<app_name>milkyway_nbody</app_name>
<version_num>3</version_num>
<file_ref>
<file_name>milkyway_nbody_0.03_windows_x86_64.exe</file_name>
<main_program/>
</file_ref>
<platform>windows_intelx86</platform>
</app_version>

For the GPU it should look like

<app>
<name>milkyway</name>
</app>
<file_info>
<name>astronomy_0.23_ATI_x64.exe</name>
<executable/>
</file_info>
<file_info>
<name>brook64.dll</name>
<executable/>
</file_info>
<app_version>
<app_name>milkyway</app_name>
<version_num>23</version_num>
<plan_class>ati13ati</plan_class>
<flops>1.0e11</flops>
<avg_ncpus>0.05</avg_ncpus>
<max_ncpus>1</max_ncpus>
<coproc>
<type>ATI</type>
<count>1</count>
</coproc>
<cmdline></cmdline>
<file_ref>
<file_name>astronomy_0.23_ATI_x64.exe</file_name>
<main_program/>
</file_ref>
<file_ref>
<file_name>brook64.dll</file_name>
</file_ref>
</app_version>

Astronomy GPU version + n-body simulation at the same time works, haven't tried additional astronomy CPU version since the GPU version runs that much faster and I can use the CPU for another project instead.

Will just adding the above info to the app_info.xml cause it to automatically download the N-body executable from the MW server? I think it will, but I wanted to check before restarting the client.

Thanks,
Marty

You must have set "Use CPU yes"
in http://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway/prefs.php?subset=project too.
After the next contact with the MW server it will download both types of WUs; 'normal' WUs for the GPU and n-body WUs for the CPU.
The max no of WUs in progress applies to the sum of all type WUs.[/url]
