So I happened to wind up checking out the Op Apps on Arkayn's site and saw there was a SSE2 version of the GPU app.

Will this give increased performance when compared to the stock app? And is it enough of a boost with a 3870 to bother doing it?

Thanks guys!

::Edit::

I'd do the testing myself, but it's my parents computer that I slapped an old graphics card into. So not the easiest for testing! ;)

Since I was out there I figured I'd just do it and see what happened.

Turns out there is no difference on this machine at least. Kind of what I figured would happen.

Figured I'd update this to perhaps help someone else out in the future that is doing a search for the info or whatever.

The stock app is the exact same app as the optimized app, the only difference is the app_info which allows you change some of the parameters.

Oh, I figured the stock app was the non SSE2 version that was up on your site for 32 bit.

Didn't expect them to use the SSE2 as the default. More compatibility and whatnot.

Thanks for the info Arkayn.

Since all the latest CPU's, AMD, INTEL, (VIA & CYRIX?), are capable
of doing SSE2, this is made the 'stock' or standard application.
CPU is needed to 'load and unload' the GPU('s), I'm not
sure if SS(S)Ex.x applies to the GPU capabillities.
I'm still a 'nobody', concerning GPU capabillities.......
