Hi,
I have posted my question a number of times.
Admin does not respond.
This is very bad and i would suggest to answer.
Why has my WU not being removed, completed in November.
192257020
Every new wu i get takes a long time to be verified.
I am very disappointed by the lack of response.
If you care at all, not to frustrate users, please respond.

Yes a few wu's get stcuk in the system. Admins don't have the time to worry about a individual wu's.

How many do you have stuck and how many have you completed? So what is the percentage of wu's that have failed to be validated?

Overall only a very very small percentage get stuck. I wouldn't be concerned about it.

I don't think you fully understand the situation. You see, after you first posted your issue concerning the stuck WU, the administrators of this project immediately held an emergency conference to formulate a plan of action in dealing with this dire situation. From what I understand, they teleconferenced with top minds from all over the world in order to generate a viable theory as to how this might be solved. After requisitioning the $20M in government funds necessary to hire the 6000 computer scientists required for the plan, they went diligently to work correcting this catastrophic failure. That's why the admins haven't responded to you, they've been working around the clock for weeks nonstop in order to fix your single stuck WU.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the the response.
It is not about this WU, but the delayed verification of all following ones.
I do not expect to get exceptional treatment.
However, as all participants, we are designating our computing power to a project.
I do not have a problem with delayed response.
However, if milky way wants people to take part in solving their tasks, they should at least respond and say" sorry, i don't care about your issues"
and that would be fine.
I am now certain, that ( after your extremely over the top response), that this project is not worth it.
I would advise anyone, who is following this thread to abandon this project.

... for what reason exactly? what possible reason is there to not continue this project? is that single WU causing a nuclear meltdown on your computer? is it impending a system-wide disaster? will it suddenly jump from the screen and try to take over the world?

simply put, the admins here are quite busy, as our support server is currently getting some major fixes and changes.

and what conaway implied in his cryptic post is that the Milkyway doesn't revolve around you, and we have plenty of maps to prove it. trust me. Copernicus's theory of geocentricism was disproven long ago. ;)
Have some patience, we're working it out as best as we can.

btw, to make things simpler:

Message 46609 - Posted: 18 Mar 2011, 7:30:44 UTC - in response to Message 46602.

The delay in getting a WU verified is all part of the afore mentioned Server Work that the project is working on presently.
With the improvements and upgrades to the server you should find that work units will be verified a lot quicker and you will get your credit a lot quicker.

I too have noticed the delay in getting credit for work done.
I have not worried about it as I know it will be verified fairly soon and I will get my credit.

No need to leave the project it is getting improved on with work unit improvements and Server improvements. Also hopefully even all the stuck work units might then be cleaned out as well.

I think I have to partially agree with Rasputin42 on this one. Communication here has gone from excelent (pre-GPU) to almost nonexistant in the current state. Without good communications some people will just get frustrated and leave. I understand that the admins are busy trying to solve all the problems here. Maybe they should designate some of the more vocal and knowledgeable people here as moderators. They could then sort through the messages and offer official replies or pass the real problems on to the admins for correction. This would also free up the admins to correct all the problems here.

I think you'll find that Blurf has had to deal with some personal matters recently. I am quite sure he is aware of issues.

Rasputin-

I am sorry for the delay in responding.

As Chris mentioned, I have been dealing with an Emergency personal matter (wife had surgery w/ complications) that has required a great deal of my time. The WU in question has been escalated to be looked into further.

I am locking this thread as we will address this issue privately.
