Team,

Quick question... I'm going to install a new video card on my primary number crunching machine. I've been stressing production over the last few weeks trying to break the top 100 hosts. I wanted to get some insight into how the RAC is calculated. Does it decay in real time or do I have a window to do this upgrade? I'm moving from 5970 to 6990, so will want around a day to test drivers/over clocks for optimal performance, play with it, etc... I just want to get a feel for what kind of reduction in RAC I can expect.

Thanks,
Justin

You will probably lose about 5k or so in RAC, it is a moving average.

Thanks for the reply. I was able to get it running and overclocked surprising fast. 65 seconds per workunit!
