This would be really, really nice indeed. I'd like to run the n-body WUs on my cpu but nothing else really. My GPU takes about 4 to 7 times as long as many ATI cards at the GPU WUs so it's of better use at GPUGRID or einstein (I'm trying out running 4 einstein tasks at once on my GPU) and I don't want to use my CPU on tasks which also run on a GPU.

Of course we have, but all you can do there is say whether you want to use CPU and/or GPU. You can't specify which kind of WUs you want to run nor can you choose not to run CPU tasks which are also available.

Let me show you what we'd like with this screenshot from the einstein@home preferences.

They have similar choices at AQUA, NFS, PrimeGrid, Yoyo and Collatz.

MW used to have an option to run test wus, as that was never used I guess it was dropped.
Doesn't expecting the unexpected make the unexpected the expected?
If it makes sense, DON'T do it.

One question managers: why not put in the preferences on some projects as an option to choose between nbody, separation and test application?

It's on my todo list.

When could you do this ?
We could avoid wasting CPU time crunching for ps_separation while GPU could do it, for those crunchers who have GPU indeed.
We could then only use CPU for crunching NBody workunits.

Matt, could you please add a check-box 'Run CPU-apps if GPU-apps are available' ? This would make it much easier to run the project without app_info.xml.

Does anyone have a valid N-body app_info.xml file.
I failed to setup one. :-(
