Hi: I know you folks are great at helping-out those of us who are "casual" crunchers and aren't hardware types. I have undertaken a video editing task that is going to require a video and memory upgrade. I'm going to 64-bit and an extra 4 gigs, and am looking at a card that will do what I need, which this one will, and Milky Way, Einstein, and SETI as well. Looking at a PNY GTX 560 from Newegg at $185 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814133397) Looks like it would be entry-level for crunching, and an affordable price.

Asking for any comments anyone would care to make. Is there a cheaper bang-for-the-buck card that would do Einstein & MW, or is this one about as cheap as I can go?

Thanks,

For crunching any NV cards smaller than the GTX560 don't make much sense, if your system can take it (power supply, case cooling, space). I wouldn't bother running Mw on it, though. The ATIs are much more efficient at MW, while they can't run the other projects.

Thank you! 550W PS, plenty of room in the case & lots of ventilation.
