Hello just wondering if Triple Crossfire is at all suported? right now boinc is saying / only using my two Asus Matrix 5870's (2gb) but not using my Reference (dell) ATI 5870. I have the newest Catalyst drivers, and it recognizes my cards just fine.

Motherboard is an Asus p6t-2e PCI-E 2 slots are 16x 16x and 4x.
intel i7 930, running at 3 ghz.

Would be nice to get that third card Crunching.

Does anybody notice heat issues when running crossfire? at stock speeds my temps soared to 90+ i had to underclock as low as i could go, (600mhz) and then ramp the fans to 100% and i'm now maintaining a steady 68-70 Degrees Celsius.

I never tried Crossfire, it's not needed or supportet by the project.
One usual problem is, that no monitor is attached to the card. You need to attach a monitor or a dummy-plug to make that card working.

I've been using 2/3/4 way crossfire since day one crunching here and of course it's supported but you have to get your drivers sorted out!
Your computer is showing in your profile as having 2 5870's so you need to get your drivers installed all the way then Catalyst Control Center will see 3way as an option and ask you to enable it, and so 3 cards will also show in BOINC manager.

As for heat issues, well that's always a problem when you start putting multiple cards together. The motherboard you chose doesn't allow for any extra spacing between them so you will have to make sure you have optimum airflow. I just found a case tha I am currently running a 3way crossfire with one 5970 and 5870. it's an Xclio windtunnel, it has two BIG 250mm fans on the side blowing right on the cards and mobo!
It's the only one of my systems that is in a box at all BUT IT WORKS.
My temps are staying right at 80C with all three cores running full load
And it's not very expensive either, but built well enough.

With my AMD machine, I bought a new case and that supported 5 fans total, but I also put wedge of paper between the 2 cards to allow a little more airflow to them.

Not with Crossfire enabled.

12/10/2011 6:45:13 AM | | ATI GPU 0: ATI Radeon HD 5800 series (Cypress) (CAL version 1.4.1589, 2048MB, 2861 GFLOPS peak)

Is there anyway to Force it to use that GPU aswell? Catalyst is recognizing it, Boinc is recognizing it, now i just have to figure out how to get it to use it/ figure out where and why it's saying not to use it. any thoughts?

Did you try a cc_config.xml?

should contain

<cc_config>
<options>
<use_all_gpus>1</use_all_gpus>
</options>
</cc_config>

Needs to be placed in the BOINC directory

Beautiful! that worked perfectly! Thanks! i thought it was going to be some command line in the cc_config, i Tried several, however i couldn't figure out, but that worked splendid, time to crunch!

... supposing the heat stays ok! I tried wedging some gaps into it, but the temps didn't sway too much, holding steady around 60-65 which i'm fine with. Watercooling will be my best bet for the future, so i can overclock and not under clock these puppies!

Thanks again for the help guys.
