Should I buy an AMD Bulldozer or Intel Sandy Bridge for crunching BOINC? I've just read a review with benchmark results and the Bulldozers are very slow compared to the Sandy Bridge CPU's.

But the benchmarks never contain anything about performance in BOINC projects so I'm asking here what to do. My signature shows the projects I'm running, but I don't run Collatz anymore, because I only have run it on a GF-8600GT 256MB which couldn't run any of my other projects, but that card has been replaced by a GTX-550TI.

So what should I do? Any pro's or con's about the 2 architectures?

Anthony.

I know enough. No need to respond anymore. I'm going with Intel.

Good choice IMHO. Not only is Bulldozer slower, its' power draw is considerably higher.
