Dear all, I've recently added 2 now computers to my crunshing park. Those 2 are unfortunately reporting only "validate error" so far. Since I never had such issue with my current main machine I wonder what I've missed. 1) Failing CentaurHauls VIA Nano processor U2250 (1.6GHz Capable) [Family 6 Model 15 Stepping 3] (1 processors, no GPU) on Ubuntu server 10.04 LTS http://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway/results.php?hostid=433420 2) Failing GenuineIntel Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q9400 @ 2.66GHz [Family 6 Model 23 Stepping 10] (2 processors, no GPU) on Debian Linux Stable http://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway/results.php?hostid=433418 3) No problems GenuineIntel Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2600K CPU @ 3.40GHz [Family 6 Model 42 Stepping 7] (8 processors, ATI GPU) on Windows 7 x64 http://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway/results.php?hostid=323537 I've searched for log file or similar things but did not find any so far as well. Any hint on what I could investigate? Many thanks |

You're using the anonymous platform with a really ancient version which won't work anymore. You can either just not use app_info and get the current version, or you have to update what you're using manually. |

I though I was doing the good way keeping the Milkyway clients coming with respectively Debian and Ubuntu but therefore was wrong. Nice for spoting that! |

Just few notes for crunchers who may face similar issues. On either Ubuntu/Debian, just install boinc-client package, *don't* install boinc-app-milkyway as it bundles the old non-working Milkyway app. Once boinc-client installed, just attach your computer to the project using the boinccmd command line: boinccmd --project_attach http://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway/ auth Where auth is your "Weak account key" as referenced on http://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway/home.php Happy crunshing. |
