Hi,

i want to restart BOINC for some benchmarks of my 7970 vs 5870.

I have installed BOINC 7.0.23 because the 6.x.xx don´t work with my win7_64.

But i still have the problem, that the 5870 don´t geht work from any project...

The CPU get WUs from Primegrid, but also no GPU WUs.

Driver is the 12.3 Version.

I would be very happy about your help.

i looks like i got some GPU WUs. The Problem now is, that i have removed my 5870 with a HD7970 for other tests.

The GPU-WUs now don´t start and i get the following message from the Client:

Did you uninstall the 5870 drivers and then install the 7970 drivers? They are NOT the same, not finding the gpu is the key. Gpu drivers loaded by Microsoft are not capable of crunching, so you MUST load them yourself. Also you may run into a problem since the units you got were designed for the 5870 and now you are using the 7970.

Separation WU's are the same for cpu and gpu, nbody WU's run on cpu only because there is no app for a gpu yet.

If BOINC doesn't see the gpu it's obviously a driver problem.
Switching the gpu (different type/generation) you need to reinstall the driver to get the card properly recognized.
