This morning, I woke up and to my suprise the GPU Milkyway@Home task's had hung on one workunit, elasping more than 3 hours. It didn't go any further on it until the computer shut down its BOINC for the day. I decided to restart the computations off schedule, and it like reset itself and began working on it again...

Any explination for this?

You have a Windows based pc, when the gpu crashes for whatever reason the ONLY way to reset it is to restart the pc. It sounds like yours crashed and by restarting your pc you got it going again. There are bagillions of reasons why a gpu might crash, it looks like you are a game by the url gamechaser.net listed on your account page, if so do you stop Boinc during your gaming?

I didn't restart the computer persay, I just told BOINC to Run Always to run off the schedule that I set up.

IF you could handle it it could ALOT of work during the hours when you are not doing other things with the pc.

Im using the summer as a test bed to see if it can handle it. The computer is only 2 weeks old. By the time school starts again, it will be running from 9:05PM to 1:00PM on weekdays, and 10:05PM to 6:00AM on Weekends.

Whenever I buy or build a new pc I ALWAYS run Boinc on it 24/7 for 1 week non stop to test it, if it breaks I can get it fixed, if it doesn't it should last a LONG time!! Of course it then continues to run on my own pc's.

This morning, I woke up and to my suprise the GPU Milkyway@Home task's had hung on one workunit, elasping more than 3 hours.

Check your Windows System Event log for events from "Display" similar to:

Display driver amdkmdap stopped responding and has successfully recovered.

If you get one of these, any GPU calculation in progress is going to hang forever.

It's not necessarily the case that you have to reboot the machine. The hardware should have already recovered but the work unit is hung. Try suspending GPU calculation from the BOINC Manager "Activity" menu and then resume it. This always works for me.
