The opencl_amd_ati are too small, and they are computed in 55 seconds here and my video card isn't any beast (6970)

That would not be an issue if boinc could update and download a high number of units properly, but it doesnt. So what happens is that I'm most of the time without work, unless I keep manually updating.

I'm completely unaware of how this workunits are built, or if they NEED to be this size, but if they don't it would be nice to have them at lease 10 times larger.

The WU sizes are the same for all.
AMD GPU, NVIDIA GPU and CPU, they all get the same WU size and get verified against each other. If run times are getting too long on CPU, it takes forever to verify one of your WUs against the results from a CPU. The list of pending WUs would grow dramatically and so would do the database.
The verification procedure itself is more complicated, but this should give you an idea.

What are your cache settings, i.e. "Maintain enough tasks to keep busy for at least" and "... and up to an additional" (or whatever these are called in your version of BOINC)?

If you don't use local preferences, you can just post all your settings from Computing Preferences (for the venue of this computer).

Thanks for the insight. I thought they were different for CPU and for GPU.

I noticed in the last update or so, that the client is being able to keep allways working.

It is when it comes to processing MW WUs!
