Well, I don't really know why, but my speeds seem to be constant again. 7950 running at 1200 MHz without dropping and completing Separation (Modified Fit) runs in under a minute each. (I've stopped crunching N-Body WUs since roughly half result in a computation error for me.) http://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway/result.php?resultid=603493468 http://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway/result.php?resultid=603488997 http://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway/result.php?resultid=603488996 Here's what happened: I was running PrimeGrid Genefer World Record on the 7950 when I had a display driver crash. I suspended the WU and switched to Milkyway thinking I'd give the card a bit of a break for a few minutes and see if it continued to act funny. What I found was that the card is now keeping it's speed up at the full OC value instead of varying between that and 850 MHz when crunching Milkyway WUs. |
