Thanks!
Didn't see them until I posted just now (which was my first post ever). Probably just a glitch in the matrix.

Welcome to the forums, now don't let these be your only posts!!! You can both learn alot and help those who know less then you do.

Is there anything in particular I need to learn?

I doubt there is anything I can teach anyone here. I'm just running BOINC.

I was talking about Boinc, there are soooo many things about running Boinc that sooo many newbies have no clue about. I see you have been running Boinc for quite a while, PG since 2007, there are alot of people that really have no clue how to make it better.

Hardly a day goes by when I don't pick up some tidbit about the BOINC-verse, often from my awesome teammates but also from great folks like Mikey.

Sometimes posting your experiences/problems helps a lot of people who are in the same boat as you and just didn't feel brave enough to post.

Be encouraged, 99% of the people on the BOINC forums are helpful and great to talk to.

I somehow managed to forget to add the additional badges when I sent them to Travis. I've added them now, and they look like they're working!

I tried boinc in 2007, running PG for a few weeks i guess. I've lost interest several times, and consequently a few years hiatus. Forgot all about Boinc until december 2013 when I started up again, with a relatively new laptop. I'm probably not going to stop crunching now that I have a better understanding of what the different projects are doing. I also have an old laptop that will be used purely to run boinc, although it's quite slow compared to the new i7 processors.

Within a year, I hope to have built a brand new desktop computer with high-end CPU and hopefully two GPUs that will also be used for boinc when idle.

Any quick tips on how to make boinc "better", as you put it?
My laptop can't be overclocked, so there is little I can do on that end.

If you ask this over in the Number Crunching section you should get lots of ideas that can help you.

A question more relevent for 2016 but will you be adding badge pairs for extened years of service after platinum?

(bronze),(silver),(gold),(platinum),(rarer metal),(unobtainium)

or adjusting the service ranges for (bronze),(silver),(gold),(platinum) in the future?

We'll add more as the need arises - we'll get clever. :)

OK. It's 2017. I think it's relevant now. Some other sites have used "diamond" as an additional level indicator. Just a suggestion?

The need is already here. Since the number of years are displayed in writing, I don't quite see the need for different background colours. Fitting the additional years (in Roman numbers) within the available space ought to be easy up to XVII or so. (Beyond that, just un-tilt the square.)

I made a 9 and 10 year badge today. They should be released tomorrow, just waiting for a chance to see Sidd and Heidi to make sure they think they look good.

I also checked to see if we need a new credit badge, but we are still a couple billion credits short of needing that.
