has anyone used a pci to pcie adapter I ran up on one but am not sure if its correct on the pci side .. I have an extra GPU gathering dust . I have seen those too and wondered the same thing...the problem is you will still be running at pci speeds, not pcie speeds. So unless you have an old gpu it will crunch much slower then normal. You might look around for a used, as in they no longer make them, pci 9500GT gpu. It will NOT crunch here at MilkyWay and is not fast, but will crunch for places like Collatz and others. |

the adapter was only ten bucks - so I took the chance . but upon fire it back up it stopped it may be the power supply being 600 watts or a bios setting too . the thing that I was really thrown off by was the PCI card to ribbon while it fits only one way . It still did not look "right to me " Its just a 650 unit with less than 400 shaders . so I guessed it would not be too band with hungry ,,,,,,,,,, here it is http://www.ebay.com/itm/PC-PCI-Express-PCI-E-16X-8X-Slots-Riser-Card-Extender-Extension-Ribbon-Cable-/321115287735?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4ac3f670b7 |
