Some people have had challenges using current drivers on an HD 6950 card. I am currently using Catalyst 13.1 and they are working fine.

A Milkyway@Home separation (modified fit) takes ~137 seconds.

A Milkeway@Home V1.02 takes ~75 seconds.

Hope that helps.

Checkout my 1st benchmarking thread for 6900 (& others) crunching times :)

damned, there is no modified 6950/70 in this benchmark results, want data if its time to use that gpu ? sounds normal MFit with 176s , but what gpu core frequency ? my will have @stock 870 mhz.

Yea there is 1 non stock 6970 in that thread, o/c GPU to 950 MHz, it was doing the 'long' 213.76 credit WUs in ~148s.

That 1st benchmarking thread is closed now, but yea it would be good to have your time for a 6900 as the new thread doesn't have 1 yet.

Your question about GPU core freq doesn't make sense ;), oh wait are you asking what freq GPU the stock 6950 is at? (which is crunching those WUs at 176s), well stock :P ;), a quick google of wiki shows that's 800 MHz.

So 870 MHz isn't stock its o/ced, but I'm guessing it's the stock factory o/c for your card?

Mine is at 870 Mhz stock, but already overclocked to 920 Mhz.

Stock times are Milkyway at 42sec (870mhz)
Modified Fit at 122sec (870mhz)

but i am running 2 wus per gpu now , less waiting losses, ya know ?

can´t believe how low the cpu usage is :D.

Running Single Core HT Sandy Bridge CPU.

Yea I've heard their is a slight production gain in running 2 WUs at once but it messes with WU times, as per my bench thread to submit times you need to stick to 1 WU/GPU.

Is the 42s time for MW v1.02 & singly crunched WUs?

It's crunched not crunshed ;).

The MW version depends which MW app your crunching with, which are you?

Btw if you're finding that all WUs quickly fail on your 6950 then it could be a driver issue, checkout the thread in this forum section called All Milkyway@Home 1.02 tasks ending in computation error on HD6950.
