I am a returning MW@h user that has recently upgraded from an HD 4780 to a GTX 760, and am disappointed to see this new card seeming to be sluggish at completing WU's. I am aware that ATi GPU's are much more efficient than nVidia for these tasks, but when I see references on this messageboard and elsewhere of new ATi cards completing WU's in under a minute, whereas my GTX 760 takes 7 or 8 minutes is perplexing and disappointing. A single WU will only utilize about 60% of my GPU core, so I have edited my app_config.xml file to enable crunching two WU's at once, but it still take me around 8 minutes to complete a single WU. I just want to make sure, is this the norm? Are nVidia cards this inefficient at MW@h WU's when compared to ATi? Are there any software tweaks - such as further configuring my app_config.xml file - to coax a bit more performance out of my GPU? |

Pretty much that is about the average for Nvidia cards as they do not have Double Precision processing power that AMD has. Take the same cards to another project that utilized Single Precision and Nvidia will do much better. |

Same problem here. My 2 GTX 760 are running one wu at about 6 mins. The thing that I do not understand is why my 3 GTX 590 run at 98% and my GTX 760 run at 55%, according to GPU-Z. All Gpu’s are running 1 wu at a time. If I increase from 1 to 2 ALL Gpu’s go to 99%, but the times of completion almost double. Tim |
