Hello. I have tried researching this issue, and there is little information to be found. I constantly get milkyway tasks stuck at the top of my queue. They build up a bit at a time, I currently have about ten tasks stuck. Boinc will not run them, I can get more tasks, but it only gives me a few, despite setting the work load high. So I am not getting enough tasks, and some sit and don't get done.0 I run pogs, milkyway, and seti on a 60 minute switch up. Any ideas? |

So I am not getting enough tasks, and some sit and don't get done.0 Boinc is trying to manage your 3 projects TOGETHER, not as individual projects, you are running them on ONE machine therefore they need to work TOGETHER to make each project happy. Some units are long, some units are shorter, some units require more cpu time than other units, stop adjusting the settings and let the Boinc Manager do its thing! In the end, it may take a couple of weeks to settle down, you will find that you are doing about the same amount of work for each project. Yes you may run nothing but MilkyWay units for a couple of days, then you will run nothing but Pogs units, then nothing but Seti units. The problems come in when projects, like Seti, go down all the time meaning your pc will be asking for units but can't get any so a 'debt' of time is building up and needs to be repaid to keep the scales balanced. The Boinc Manager is designed to deal with this and WILL if you just leave it alone!! |
