Why would a new server be needed to update the list of acceptable GPU's? That doesn't make any sense at all.

Nor is a lot of testing needed. They're not rewriting any major parts of the database or code to update a list of acceptable GPU's!

And I've donated before in the past.

The Admin Blurf would be the one to talk too I think.

I just built a R9-290x box and it's not receiving any work from MW@H.
Is this still an ongoing issue?

I am sorry but I'm not involved with testing or configuring of MW code. I will send this up the chain to those who do such functions.

Yes, but if you go back thru the thread you will see people who HAVE made it work.

Thanks everyone. I was able to get my r9 390x to work with this project even eight months after this thread started.

Did you use a config file? Did you load the AMD APP SDK stuff too?

I try to get variety of ATI cards working under linux and have encountered following issues:

1. milkyway_separation_1.20_i686-pc-linux-gnu and milkyway_separation_1.20_i686-pc-linux-gnu__opencl_amd_ati are not available in x86_64 version and x86 binaries for linux are deprecated.

2. It looks like no tasks for AMD/ATI were available from the server:

"13-Nov-2015 01:08:24 [Milkyway@Home] Tasks for CPU are available, but your preferences are set to not accept them
13-Nov-2015 01:08:24 [Milkyway@Home] Tasks for NVIDIA GPU are available, but your preferences are set to not accept them"

Two settings to check then, both under Your Account, Milkyway@home preferences:

Use CPU
Enforced by version 6.10+ no
Use ATI GPU
Enforced by version 6.10+ yes
Use NVIDIA GPU
Enforced by version 6.10+ yes

AND:

Run only the selected applications
MilkyWay@Home: no
MilkyWay@Home N-Body Simulation: no
Milkyway@Home Separation: yes
Milkyway@Home Separation (Modified Fit): no

If no work for selected applications is available, accept work from other applications? no

Make SURE all of those are set so you get the units you want to be getting. The above are my settings, not the default ones. I run 64bit Windows and only get gpu units.

Hi all,

In regards to this app_info.xml (which I thought was beyond my capability but thanks to you guys and the above instructions, it wasn't so bad)

Whilst it now seems to crunch M@H GPU tasks again with my R9 390 (taking about 41 sec per WU) BOINC doesn't appear to be fetching more WU's??

I woke up this morning and my pc was crunching another project and no M@H GPU tasks until I manually updated the project, then it fetched more GPU tasks.
(I had all other projects suspended, my pc was just crunching away at some old tasks.)

Is there something in the code that needs adjusting to make BOINC fetch new tasks?

Thank you

Sorry guys, if I had the option to remove my last post, I would.
It seems the project is updating. I'm guessing it just took a while to settle down as I hadn't crunched at WU's for quite some time.

My apologies.
