I have made an assumption that N-body is an application that runs better on CPU, since there is no GPU version available yet. So I would like to run Nbody only on my CPU, but leave all the modfit to my two GPUs, how should I config? I have 6 threads on my CPU and two GPUs.

Also I have noticed that Nbody creates a massive number of "Handles" in Windows, observed in task manager. Some task may finish in an hour, one I have encountered took my CPU 8 hours+ and over a million of handles. What is that?

Two things...first if you come back to post again within 60 minutes of posting before you can click on the "edit" link at the top of your post and that way you don't have to make two posts. Second the n-body units ONLY run on the cpu, they are not gpu units, and they will use ALL of your cpu cores for each unit. They grab all the cpu cores you have available to Boinc when the units first start up and they doesn't release them until the unit is completed, even if it isn't physically using all of them every second while crunching the unit. So yes it can create ALOT of handles as it works it's way thru the units. What alot of people do is try the n-body units, and then not crunch then if they become too intrusive to their pc and other projects. For some people they work great, for others not so much, since each pc is different it's best to make your own decision for you and your pc. There ARE other cpu units to crunch here if you just uncheck them as one of the kinds you crunch. IF you do that remember to also say 'NO' on the line in your preferences that says:
If no work for selected applications is available, accept work from other applications? yes
