Message 64597 - Posted: 30 May 2016, 22:04:29 UTC - in response to Message 64596.

System has been offline all weekend.
If you look at the homepage of the project and at the title of this thread you would see they are down for upgrades/maintenance.

So the boinc manager will continue to try and communicate to the project, but the project will not answer because the servers are offline. Maybe later today or tomorrow it will be ready. Who knows, when its back you will see all that disappear and new stuff loaded. Meanwhile it is stuck in your tasks tab and there is nothing you can do about it.

The server status page lists the upload/download server as running, yet my boinc_curses frontend claims:

Yes that's the hope! The Server side software here at MW hadn't been updated in a while as all the tweaks each Project makes can be extensive and require those changes to be redone with each upgrade. Also the new Server software from Boinc itself often renames directories, moves things from this directory to that directory and even uses new programming languages, so just copying and pasting won't work. All that means it can be a HUGE job and as long as the Project is 'working' Projects don't always have the money to spend on the 'upgrades'. MW is to be commended for doing this and for keeping the Project running in the process!!

Thanks Mikey!
It was you who helped me with the config file and I thank you for that. I may call on your help again if I need to manually remove it :)

Kind regards
Andrew

Message 64602 - Posted: 31 May 2016, 13:47:54 UTC - in response to Message 64601.

Hey everyone,

I thought everything was running when I left the office on Friday! I was only running backups last week so updates are actually starting today. Not sure why everything was down. Hopefully everything should be running again by the end of today.

Sorry again,

Jake W.

Awesome! The server status page seems to think the upload/download server is still disabled. Working on getting that fixed and hopefully https working correctly.

Jake

Edit:
Hey I am still playing around on the server trying to get everything working smoothly again. Looks like I got our page's CSS displaying properly again. If you notice you are not able to download new workunits or upload finished ones please let me know.

Hey,

Thank you for the report, I purposefully shut the project down for about half an hour or so while I updated the BOINC libraries and recompiled the server code. Should be up and running now. Sorry for the delay. All of the updates should be concluded now and things should be running smoothly again for a while.

Thank you everyone for your patience.
